The aim of the workshop is to develop the skills and confidence of participants in order that they can independently construct a good quality scientifically sound research proposal. |

This course is intended for public health practitioners and researchers working within organisations who are in a position to submit research proposals for funding. |
| Summary |
A research proposal is a document that outlines what the research is about, why it is important, how the researchers plan to carry it out and how the results may be used. This workshop will introduce the proposal process and provide participants with the opportunity to develop a draft research proposal. |
| Participant outcomes |
By the end of the workshop participants will have the skills and knowledge to:
- Outline and describe the 13 key elements found in a research proposal
- Develop a draft proposal and a follow up plan for completion including communication with the research team
- Simulate the defence / presentation of a draft proposal
- Understand the expectations of various donors and how to adapt to them

| Teaching Methods |
Participatory methods - group work, role plays and group presentations will collectively facilitate the building of knowledge and skills. Approximately 50% of the course will be interactive. |

Nairobi. Fees range from 30,000-35,000 KES, per participant. All inclusive.
Mombasa. Fees range from 25,000-30,000 KES, per participant. All inclusive.
