Develop and strengthen participants’ capacity to comprehensively design, compare and analyse a mix of qualitative, quantitative and participatory action research methods within a triangulation framework in order to address a multi faceted public health problem. |
| Summary |
Public health problems and interventions are multi faceted and therefore when being evaluating require multiple research methods to strengthen the value and relevance of the research outputs. The Triangulation Method can provide a structured framework to ensure that a variety of methods are used to answer the research question from different perspectives. The workshop will use relevant case studies that offer participants the opportunity to understand how to design a study and analyse data using a triangulation framework consisting of multiple research methods that can be used to evaluate a multifaceted public health problem. Participants will understand the value triangulation can have when generating strong evidence for policy and practice. |
| Participant outcomes |
By the end of the workshop participants will have the skills and knowledge to:
- Identify research questions that would benefit from a triangulated approach
- Develop a triangulated research design
- Choose & mix methods appropriately while retaining a clear research question
- Describe the challenges to analysis of mixed method results
- Demonstrate the analysis of a set of triangulated results & draw conclusions from case studies
- Effectively communicate the multi-disciplinary findings

| Teaching Methods |
Participatory methods - group work, role plays and group presentations will collectively facilitate the building of knowledge and skills. Approximately 50% of the course will be interactive. |

Nairobi. Fees range from 13,000-15,0000 KES, per participant. All inclusive.
